Start with your visa application instructions
UK visa applications do not all use one downloadable photo format. GOV.UK explains that applicants usually provide a photograph and fingerprints at a visa application centre. Some applicants are offered the UK Immigration: ID Check app instead. Your application tells you which process applies.

If your application offers the ID Check app
Follow the app’s capture instructions. Its identity process includes taking a facial photograph; buying a processed image does not replace that process. Check device eligibility and the steps in the official ID Check app guide.
If you are asked to upload or bring a separate photo
Use the instructions supplied for your route or appointment. Confirm dimensions, file limits, background, and whether editing is permitted. This guide does not establish a universal UK visa pixel size or print size. Passport guidance alone is not proof that those specifications apply to every visa.
Where PixPassVisa can help
Our photo checker provides automated feedback. It cannot complete UKVI identity verification or promise visa acceptance. The UK passport tool serves a different document; use it only when its settings match your actual instructions.
Checks and previews are free. Processed downloads are paid at the price shown before checkout. Do not purchase a download if your application requires a live photo or an appointment instead.
Before submitting
- Identify your visa route and the identity process offered in your application.
- Keep the original photograph and follow any restrictions on editing.
- Use the application’s own instructions if they differ from a third-party guide.
Avoid Passport & Visa Photo Rejections
Our automatic tool can prepare common crops and formats (such as 2x2" or 35x45mm) for review. Always compare the result with your issuing authority's current rules.
